Innobarometer 2009

"During the analysis we sometimes use the country classification according to the 2008 European Innovation Scoreboard2 (and consistently provide all results in the frequency tables in the Annex), as follows:

• - “Innovation leaders”: Denmark, Finland, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK
• - “Innovation followers”: Austria, Belgium, France, Ireland, Luxembourg and the Netherlands
• - “Moderate innovators”: Cyprus, Estonia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, Norway, Portugal and Spain
• -“Catching-up countries”: Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania and Slovakia."
